Nothing happens here without a clear yes
Consent is the foundation this community is built on — not a checkbox, but a practice. This policy defines what consent means here, how it works at gatherings and online, and what happens when it is violated.

What consent means here
- Enthusiastic — a clear, unpressured yes. The absence of a no is not a yes. Silence, hesitation, or uncertainty are not a yes.
- Informed — you can only agree to what you actually understand. Surprises negotiated after the fact are violations, not spontaneity.
- Specific — a yes to one thing is a yes to that thing only. It does not carry over to anything else, anyone else, or any other time.
- Ongoing — consent is checked in on, not banked. What was welcome ten minutes ago may not be welcome now.
- Revocable — anyone may withdraw consent at any moment, for any reason, without explanation. Withdrawal is honored instantly and completely.
Sobriety and capacity
A person who is intoxicated, impaired, or asleep cannot consent — full stop. If someone’s capacity is in doubt, the answer is no, and a host should be told. “They seemed fine” is not a defense here.
At gatherings
- Ask before touch — every person, every time, including greetings. Nothing about this space makes anyone’s body available by default.
- Negotiate before, not during: agree on boundaries in advance, in plain words, when everyone can think clearly.
- Check in as things progress. A check-in is attractive; assuming is not.
- Observing is always a fully legitimate way to attend. No one owes anyone participation, interaction, or an explanation.
- Hosts are present, trained, and interruptible at every event. Bringing them a concern is never an overreaction.
Photography and recording
No photograph or recording of any person without their explicit, in-the-moment consent — screens stay away unless everyone in frame has agreed. Sharing images of members outside the community is a permanent-ban offense, and may also be a crime.
In digital spaces
- The same standard applies in messages and posts as in person: no unsolicited explicit content, no pressure after a no, no repeated contact after silence.
- Nobody owes you a reply. Declining or ignoring a message request is a complete answer.
- Blocking is always available and never requires justification.
- Digital spaces are moderated, and conversations can be reviewed by the moderation team when safety requires it (see the Privacy Policy).
When consent is withdrawn
Everything stops — immediately, gracefully, and without negotiation, sulking, or debate. Saying no, changing your mind, or leaving carries no social penalty here, and anyone who imposes one is violating this policy.
Reporting and response
If something felt wrong, it is worth reporting — at an event, find any host; online, use the report actions or the contact form. Reports are read by real people, investigated with discretion, and acted on. We do not punish good-faith reports, ever, and retaliation against someone for reporting is itself a permanent-ban offense.
Zero tolerance
Coercion, ignoring withdrawal of consent, intoxicated-consent situations, and non-consensual photography end membership permanently on the first offense. This is the line the entire community stands on — see the Code of Conduct for the full rules and the Terms of Membership for how enforcement works.
